Don't steal your man's razor

I have to admit I'm a freebie addict. If I see a free sample opportunity you can almost guarantee that I'm gonna get it. When I saw I could get a sample of the Schick Quattro Titanium razor I ordered it right away under the premise that I would give it to my best friend. Yes, my best friend is a man.

The razor, which is really kind of classy looking, sat on my desk for more than a week. Suddenly (well, maybe not so suddenly) I realized that I didn't have a razor, my legs were getting pretty hairy and it was getting too hot to keep wearing jeans. Since I hadn't told him about it anyway I figured I would use it. Good idea, right?

Well, not really. When I used the razor it ran over my legs so smoothly that I just knew I was getting the best shave of my life. It seemed like the four titanium blades and the soft edging blade were doing an excellent job. Until I stepped out of the shower, began to dry my legs and saw all the hair left.

Now it's possible that I just didn't do a good job shaving. It's also possible that I could have missed ALOT of spots. And, it's even more possible that I should have just bought a razor made for girls.

This is probably an excellent choice for a guy; however, I may never know since now I can't give it to him. How does your guy's razor work?

Someone is giving away chocolate

Sara, at One is Too Many, is giving away some Hershey Bliss. It's funny because I just saw the commercial for that and thought, "I have to have some!" Sara's giveaway is all apart of MommyFest, which is in its 5th year, too.

There are so many mom bloggers participating; it's a great way to get to know other bloggers and maybe score some goodies at the same time.

Have fun!

There's a party going on!

Congratulations to all the winners of my easy giveaway. I'll post their names a little bit later because right now I wanted to tell you about a party. I forgot to mention yesterday that this week is MommyFest. (Remember I told you about that awhile ago?) Well, at MommyFest there are a bunch of mom bloggers partying and giving out goodies (which is one of the reasons I did my easy giveaway) so head on over and join in the fun.

You can still win!

I recently ran a Mother's Day Contest that received absolutely ZERO entries. Therefore, in an effort to still promote the SanDisk Cruzer Gator I'm hosting a very easy giveaway.

The SanDisk Cruzer Gator is a USB 2.0 flash drive with 4GB of space, which is perfect to store and transport thousands of family photos, videos, kids' drawings and even kids' songs. Whether you're at work or on the road, you can access and enjoy these keepsakes anywhere. The drive is lighter than a lipstick and it definitely doesn't look like your standard corporate flash drive.

The first 10 people who reside in the U.S. and respond to this post will receive the SanDisk Cruzer Gator. You do not have to have a blog to enter. In your comment let me know whether you prefer black, pink or red and I will try to accommodate.

It'll be easy enough to see if you're one of the 10 then all you have to do is forward your mailing address to petulawrites at yahoo dot com.

Favorite Mom Quote

I had to move this post so you'll see the original comments at the bottom of the post. Sorry for any confusion.

I was tagged by HotMomma to do this and I didn't want to disappoint her because it is her first tag! :-)

I didn't recall a quote about mothers on my own so I did a little searching at my favorite quotations site... And found one I think you all will love and agree with:

"The world is full of women blindsided by the unceasing demands of motherhood, still flabbergasted by how a job can be terrific and torturous." This was said by Anna Quindlen in the May 2003 issue of O Magazine.

I haven't much felt like tagging so I'm gonna leave this up to you. However, INSERT BIG GRIN HERE, I would love to see what Carrie, Farah, Tammy and Tina have to say.

Feeling defeated

Have you ever had someone in your life that you couldn't get rid of and 90 percent of your conversations with them bring you down? I am so tired of the roller coaster of emotions that I experience when dealing with this person.

Okay, I'll just stop being cryptic: The almost ex-husband.

You know how I've been struggling to work from home with the baby here? Well, the two middle children are home now too. I feel like giving up. My three youngest are 4, 3 and almost 1. The only way to put in the number of hours I need to work is to plop them in front of the tv and let them randomly play all day.

Then I would have mom guilt.

My 4-year-old needs to be prepared for pre-K and the 3 year old is so close behind that she should be getting ready for headstart/preschool. So, that's teaching, preparing meals, caring for little people, changing diapers, making bottles, taking care of the house and working to make money in order to keep the house, buy the diapers and care for all the people. And that's the short list.

SIGH!

How can someone who doesn't have a job self righteously tell someone they should get a job? (Yes, I'm talking about the same person.) If only he knew that in the past year I've applied for about 17 jobs and had two recruiters contact me (that didn't work out either... someone else got those positions). I've been looking for a job since the baby was four weeks old when he called and asked, "Did you get a job yet?" I've tried to obtain about 20 freelance gigs. And I've been trying (with a little success) to monetize this blog since nothing else has come through.

Is anyone out there making enough money to take care of responsibilities while working from home with their young children at home? If so, please tell me how you're doing it and what you're doing.

Missing posts

I am getting all of the terms and conditions of the different paid sites mixed up. I know most say that paid posts should be separated by non-paid and non-sponsored posts of at least 50 words. Well, what I missed is that one said that the posts had to be separated by another post that had original content. That seems to mean that any post that is a quiz, tag or meme does not qualify.

Oh well. I'll have to figure out a way to remember all of this so I don't have to go back and try to fix what I inadvertently messed up. So if you're reading my blog and it seems like stuff is missing or moved around then you know why. I'll try to edit the posts so that you know... I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the ones that have comments.
